March 11, 2025 - Mongolia's Ministry of Health has reported six confirmed cases of measles since March 3, 2025, mostly in unvaccinated babies under nine months old. This is a sharp increase from the usual number of cases, with most occurring in Ulaanbaatar Province.
March 11, 2025 - Brazil’s Ministry of Health has reported about 30,000 cases of chikungunya since January 2025, a threefold increase from usual numbers. Most cases occurred in Mato Grosso, with smaller outbreaks in other states, but the worst of the outbreak is over.
February 20, 2025 - A total of nine confirmed cases of Sudan virus disease have been reported in Uganda, since the outbreak was declared on 30 January 2025.The cases were reported from four districts in the country which include Jinja, Kampala, Mbale, and Wakiso.
March 3, 2025 - According to Colombia's Ministry of Health, approximately 45 cases of pertussis per week are being reported. More than 330 cases, a 2-fold increase over average incidence. The outbreak has peaked. All adult travelers should be up to date on Tdap vaccination.
March 7, 2025 - The Argentine Ministry of Health has identified eight verified cases of measles since late January 2025, marking a tripling of the usual number. Travelers to the affected areas should ensure their MMR vaccinations are up to date.
March 4, 2025 - According to regional health authorities, 7 locally acquired human cases of Japanese Encephalitis have been reported since late December 2024 in the following states: near Goondiwindi in southern Queensland, in the Riverina region of Victoria, and in the Riverina region and northeastern areas of New South Wales. Risk to travelers is minimal. Travelers should observe insect precautions.
