The Philippines - Leptospriosis

June 13, 2025 - Significant Leptospirosis Increase in Caraga Region According to press sources citing regional health authorities. More than 220 cases of leptospirosis, a significant increase over average incidence due to to flooding, have been reported since January 2025 in Caraga Region.

Thailand - Significant Covid Increase

June 6, 2025 - According to Thailand's Ministry of Health, more than 86,000 cases of COVID-19 per week, a 3-fold increase over average incidence, have been reported since mid-May 2025. Since late March 2025, approximately 363,400 cases cases have been reported throughout the country, mainly in Bangkok Province.

Samoa - Dengue Fever Increase

June 3, 2025 - There has been a significant Dengue Increase, mainly on Upolu Island. According to press sources citing Samoa's Ministry of Health, more than 40 laboratory-confirmed cases of dengue per week have been reported since mid-May 2025.

Brazil- Increase in Mayaro Fever

June 3, 2025 - According to press sources, 11 cases of Mayaro fever, a significant increase over average incidence, have been reported since January 2025 in Acre State. Mayaro fever presents 1 to 12 days following exposure and initial symptoms usually last 3 to 5 days, with persistence of arthralgias for weeks to months; intermittent fever, neurological complications, myocarditis, and death may occur.

Paraguay - Significant Pertussis Increase

June 2, 2025 - Paraguay Mission Alert: Significant Pertussis Increase June 2 According to PAHO, more than 35 cases of pertussis (including > 30 laboratory-confirmed), a 5-fold increase over average incidence, have been reported since January 2025 in Central (13 cases), Alto Paraná (8 cases), Asunción (7 cases), Paraguarí (3 cases), Caaguazú (2 cases), San Pedro (2 cases), Guairá (1 case), and Presidente Hayes (1 case) departments.
