Here’s how we make a difference:
Yes. For most plans, you are able to use HSA or FSA funds toward the MissionMD plans.
Immediately after your order, the prescriptions are submitted to the pharmacy where they are reviewed and packaged by a licensed pharmacist. The medication pack is then shipped directly to your door. We recommend purchasing your medication packs at least two weeks prior to travel.
We provide service for missionaries departing from anywhere in the United States to anywhere in the world.
No. Each medication is prescribed (and labeled) specifically to the missionary and should cause no problems with travel. Due to international constraints, we are unable to prescribe any controlled medications including certain pain medications and ADHD medications.
Due to the complexity of providing care via telehealth worldwide, insurance is not accepted.
Yes, you can. Due to international pharmacy restrictions, coupled with the frequent missionary transfers, new or refilled medications are generally mailed to the missionary’s U.S. home and then forwarded to the missionary by family.
There are two ways to access care while in the field. The first is via the MissionMD patient portal, where you can contact your MissionMD doctor and our support staff anytime by message. The second is by booking a tele-health appointment also through the MissionMD patient portal. Telehealth appointments are conducted via the Zoom app which is installed on every missionary’s phone.
Yes! We create custom plans for missionaries currently in the field to best fit the complexities of their unique case. Please reach out to our support team at info@missionmd.com.
No, none of MissionMD’s services function as the physical exam required for missionaries to submit their papers.
MissionMD’s focus is to prevent and treat illness for missionaries in the field.
In addition we are able to provide most medications that your missionary may currently be taking, such as medications for asthma for example, as well as medications specifically needed in the area of service, such as medications to prevent malaria. These additional medications are generally available at a steeply discounted rate due to our relationship with national pharmacies.
A consultation can be scheduled by any Elder or Sister currently serving. No medications can be directly provided or prescribed to missionaries serving outside the U.S. The consultation fee is $149.
